Technician/supervisor - K-9 Unit of the Fort Collins Police Department, Fort Collins, CO.
Established the K-9 Unit for the Department.
Provide direction in establishment of K-9 units throughout the U.S. and Russia.
Wrote policies and addendums for the executive staff of the police agencies throughout the U.S.
Direct implementation of new procedures on a developmental basis.
Coordinated and directed all public relations activities between the citizens of Fort Collins and the Department regarding the use of canines.
Hired, trained, scheduled, managed and evaluated personnel assigned to the canine unit.
Liaison between Police Department and Poudre R-1 School District for the Drug Dogs in the Schools program (keeps the school a drug-free zone.
Collaborated with Budget Officials with reference to the K-9 portion of the annual budget.
Provided oversight in the purchase and maintenance of all supplies, materials and equipment for the K-9 unit.
Provided an excellent working relationship with the media, providing a positive image of the Unit to the community.
Instruct seminars nationwide on all aspects of police k-9 as well as animal behavior.
